Council Lifts Ban on Press
Newspaper reporters were permitted to attend a meeting of the Taumarunui County Council last week for the first time in recent years. They were welcomed by the chairman, Mr A. Body, who said that the presence of the press at council meetings was a move in the right direction. He had felt for some time that ratepayers should be able to follow the activities of the council.
