KORAKONUI SPORTS CLUB
ANNUAL MEETING HELD OFFICERS ELECTED The annual meeting of the club held recently was well attended and satisfaction generally expressed with the club as an organisation. The chairman, Mr L. A. Kay, in presenting his report, traversed the workings of the club since its inception, and expressed the opinion that a high standard must be maintained in order to engage the support of the public. The following officers were elected for 1948-49: Patron: J. R. Kay; president: L. A. Kay; vice-presidents: Messrs G. Gower (senior), Hpn. J. E. Duncan, E. Maddern, J. Jamieson, C. Lascelles, and C. W. T. Whitfield; secretary and treasurer: T. H. White; chopping clerk: S. Fleming; delegate to Northern Athletic Union: S. Fleming; Executive Committee: Mrs T. H. White, Messrs Gower, J. Jamieson, and T. J. Gallagher; General Committee: Mesdames Orr, White, Fleming, McGill, Miss E. Lawry, Messrs Carver, Cooper, E. Kay, T. Kay, J. Jamieson, R. Maddern, ‘McGill, W. Campbell, J. Froggatt, A. H. Moyle, T. J. Gallagher, P. Pinkerton, J. Spraggs, and E. Woolston.
It was decided that the next sports meeting be held in April of next year.
