CAPTAIN’S TROPHY GAMES SUNDAY’S COMPETITIONS Superb weather conditions prevailed on Sunday when a large crowd assembled on the Kawhia golf links, when the first round of the competition for the captain’s trophies was played. Humphrey (14) —4 up. L. Lobb (11) beat W. W; Davies (15)— 1 up. B. Purser (11) beat A. W. Babbage (11) —4 up and 2 to play. Wl T. Lentfer (8) beat T. O’Connor (11) —5 up and 4 to play. N. Lentfer (8) beat W(. Daysh (9) — 4 up and 3 to play. J. Reeve (14) beat L. Penniall (18) 2 up. L. Meredith (8) beat E. Monteith (18) —6 up and 5 to play. A. W. O’Connor (6) beat L. Ward (12) —1 up.
