PURCHASE OF PROJECTOR

FOR USE AT TE AWAMUTU COLLEGE VALUABLE AID TO EDUCATION The purchase of a sound film projector valued at about £2BO, was the subject of discussion at Wednesday night’s meeting of the Te Awamutu College Committee of Management. The Principal, Mr Rochfort, said that the machine was needed at the College, and there were many valuable educational films which could be used if such a machine was. available.

Qn instructions from the Parentteachers’ Association, the purchase of an “Ampro” projector had been tentatively arranged with an Auckland firm.

The money spent by the College would be refunded by the Association, and a subsidy would be available on that part of the purchase represented by- the school’s intermediate department.

The Principal explained that the machine was an American product. Similar projectors Would be made in Britain eventually, but would cost over £4OO. Their British manufacture, however, would ensure that replacement parts were procurable. A resolution approving the purchase of an “Ampro” projector and the-payment of a deposit thereon, was moved by Mr C. Howcroft and Mr West and carried.
