Poultry in Demand
At the weekly poultry sale held at G. D. Shepherd and Co.’s yard yesterday all birds offered met with spirited bidding, but owing to wet weather prevailing the penning was smaller than usual. Quotations: Turkey hens 9s 6d to 10s, 8.0. hens 6s, 8.0. cockerels 6s 6d, 8.0. roosters 4s to 4s 6d, Minorca roosters 3s, Minorca hens 3s, ducks and drakes 3s, Bantams Is fid to 2s 3d, B.L. hens 4s, B.L. cockerels 4s to ss, W.L. hens 3s to 5s 6d, R.I.R. pullets 14s 6d, R.I.R. cockerels 7s, R.I.R. hens 8s 6d to 10s 6d.
