Ramsbottom, 73-5—68. This was closely followed by R. J. Hannah, 91-22—69, S. Napier 75-6—69, and M. Speight 93-24—69. Handicap reductions. K. J. Hannah 22-5—17; Ramsbottom 5-I—4; Speight 24-2—22. In the Open Tournament held on Sunday, excellent golf was played by the scratch player A. N. Young, of St. Andrews, formerly of Auckland, to win ths best gross score with two rounds of 74 each. He was followed by D. Ramsbottom with rounds of 74 and 77. Other results are as follows: Junior 36 hole gross: H. Duncan 168; runner-up, D. Gee 171. Senior net score, 36 holes: C. Hyland, Whakatane, 139; runner-up, N. Hanna 141. Junior net 36 holes: K. J. Hannah 131; runner-up, L. Shead, Huntly, 141. Senior medal: A. Meeking, Arapuni, 71. Junior medal: W. Nicoll 69. Senior stableford: H. Clarke, Horahora, 36. Junior stableford: N. F. Rigby 34.
