WAIPA COUNTY
CHAIRMAN ’ RETIRES AFTER LONG PUBLIC SERVICE RECOGNITION BESTOWED • On his retirement from the chairmanship of the Waipa County Council Mr S. C. B. Macky was recognised by the ratepayers. Delegates from the Council and the ratepayers attended at the Waikato Hospital, where Mr Macky is a patient, to make a presentation in recognition of his long association with the Council and his valued service in many spheres of public life. Writing from the Waikato Hospital, Mr Macky now says:— “Will you allow me space to thank, on behalf of my wife and myself, the ratepayers, residents and staff of the Waipa County Council for the handsome gift that was presented to us recently. My connection with the County has formed one of the longest and happiest associations of my life, and it is with the deepest regret that I do not seek re-election. My years working with the staff and councillors have been most happy and 1 would thank them for their loyal help and co-operation at all times. At the end of my service it has been a very great pleasure to receive such a mark of recognition as you have given me. Please accept the grateful thanks of my wife and myself.”
