SOME ANXIETY FELT EOX-HOLDERS’ MEETING AT OHAUPO If the attendance was any indi*'Minn. last right’s meeting of rural box-holders, held at Ohaupo showed there is much anxiety being felt. Mr B. C. O’Connor presided over an attendance of approximately 70 farmers, got together at short notice to discuss the Saturday service and also appoint delegates from the delivery routes, totalling about 360. The following delegates for the undermentioned districts were appointed:— Kainaki: Messrs W. A. Richards and M. Cunningham. Ngahinepouri: Messrs H. D. McDonald and H- Ward. Paterangi.- Messrs W. S. Germ,ann, J. McGlall, L. C. Day and Geo Silvester.

A resolution was carried on the motion of L. C. Day, and W. Mackay, emphasising the anxiety felt at the chances of the rural mail being discontinued on Saturdays, felt that the demand shojild be made that all contracts be called, on a six day basisThe meeting w|as addressed by Messrs W. S. Germann, the chairman Mr B. C. O’Connor and also the post-master, who kindly and helpfully answered a lot of questions which’helped to clear up a lot of misunderstanding. At the' conclusion, the meeting nassed a very hearty vote of thanks to the chair and th© post-master, Mr G. E. Butt.
