VISITING ROVERS
HAMILTON BOYS ENTERTAINED MOUNT KAKAPUKU CLIMBED A contingent of the Hamilton Rovers visited Te Awamutu over the week-end. On Saturday night the visitors, with local Rovers, were entertained most hospitably by Mr and Mrs Burchell, at their home. Games and quizz and impromptu speeches, with a sumptuous supper, made the evening pass, all too quickly. On Sunday the party went to the Scouts Island and then climbed Kakapuku. While some of the younger lads found the elimb a stiff one, all reached the summit. They were amply repaid by the glorious view of the rich pastoral lands and their homesteads nestling amid plantations with the still more entrancing views of the four mountains away in the distance. Lunch was cooked and partaken of and late in the afternoon the boys retraced their steps and an enjoyable day ended. It is hoped to arrange a frequent interchange of visits.
