RUKUHIA AERODROME
CLOSING DOWN OF STATION Plans for the closing down of Hamilton R.N.Z.A.F. Headquarters at Rukuhia and the disposal of the 475 aircraft that are in storage on the aerodrome were discussed by a party of officials from Air Force Headquarters, Wellington, and the Air Department with the station commander at Rukuhia, SquadronLeader A- N. Johnston, last week. Arrangements are not yet firralised and further instructions are awaited. However, it has been confirmed that the staff of the airport will be considerably reduced and Rukuhia will be brought under the control of the Te Rapa Station as soon as arrangements are completed. It is anticipated that the change-over will take place about the end of this month.
