FAREWELL PARTY

PRESENTATION MADE On Friday last a farewell party was accorded Private David Morrison, in Mr Harwood’s barn, Park Road, when dancing, interspersed with musical items, went to make up a very jolly evening. After supper Mr F. Harwood, on behalf of those present, extended good wishes to the guest and wished him a safe return. A presentation of gifts from Park Rd. friends and relations, and the Te Awamutu Patriotic Society, was made by Mr W. Morrison. Misses Beryl and Jean Clarke presented dainty shoulder sprays to Mrs David Morrison and Mrs Frew, mother of Private Malcolm Frew, who was also present.

While spending a week in Scotland visiting Royal Air Force stations to meet New Zealanders, the New Zealand High Commissioner, Mr W. J. Jordan, called in to see a* New Zealand torpedo-bomber squardron which has scored many successes against Nazi shipping off the Norwegian coasts. Mr Jordan congratulated the squadron on its achievements. A Te Awamutu man in this squadron is Flight-Sergeant H. A. Sherley, son of Mr and Mrs C. R. Sherley, of Roache Street.
