TE AWAMUTU STOCK SALE Messrs Dalgety and Company Limited report having held their usual tri-weekly stock sale at Te Awamutu last Thursday, when a large yarding of beef and boner cattle came forward. In the beef section the market was slightly quieter, and boners sold at late rates, a total clearance being effected in both sections. A small yarding of store cattle met the market. Two pens of fat bullocks on account of Messrs Perham and Larsen realised £l2 12s 6d and £ll 10s respectively, a pen of lighter cattle on account of Mr P. A. Cullen £ll ss, a pen of heifers and two pens of cows on account of Mr G. 0. Bayly brought £9 2s 6d, £8 7s, and £8 15s, and several pens of cows and heifers on account of Mr S. J. Harding sold at £6 15s to £7 10s. Quotations:— Cattle: Fat bullocks £ll 15s to £l2 12s 6d, light ditto £ll to £ll 15s, fat Polled Angus heifers £8 10s to £9 2s 6d, fat Polled Angus cows and heifers £7 to £8 10s, heavy Polled Angus cows £7 IQs, to £8 15s, fat Holstein cows £6 to £7, fat Jersey cows £5 to £6, Jersey cows and runners £5 to £6 10s, heavy boners £4 to £4 15s, medium £3 5s to £3 17s 6d, light £2 to £3, others 5s to £1 ss, 3-year springing heifers £7, empty Hereford heifers £5 to £5 ss, Hereford cows and calves £7, medium Polled Angus steers £7. Sheep: A full entry of sheep sold well up to late rates to a full bench of buyers. Fat lambs made 22s to 245, forward-condition wethers 20s to 21s, forward-condition lambs 17s J2d to 19s, good store lambs 13s 6d to 15s, medium Ils to 12s 6d, smaller 6s to 9s, small 2-tooth ewes to. 245, f.m, breeding ewes 12s to 14s, one-shear Southdown rams 7 to 8J gns., f.m. Southdown rams 3 to 4 gns. Cattle: Fat cows from dairy £5 IDs, boner cows £3 10s to £4 10s, potter bulls £3 to £5 ss. Pigs: Light porkers £1 17s to £2 16s.
