VET. ASSOCIATION

MEETING OF EXECUTIVE A meeting of the Executive of the Te Awamutu Veterinary Association (Inc.) was held at the office of the secretary, Mr R. F. Armstrong, on Monday. Those present were Mr W. J. Hodgson (chairman), G. R. Lawry> H. R. Clarke, G. Donaldson, C. J. Flay and M. E. Dodson, B.V.Sc., veterinary surgeon to the Association, The secretary reported that applications for membership were coming to hand very satisfactorily and it was decided that all applications within a radius of 12 miles from the Te Awamutu Post Office would be accepted. Groups or blocs of farmers over the 12 mile limit would also probably be accepted but they would probably have to bear to cost of the veterinary surgeon’s travelling expenses over and above the 12 miles.

With regard to veterinary medicines and supplies it was decided that the local chemists should be given the opportunity to tender for same, based on a schedule prepared by Mr Dodson. It was also resolved that a member should have the option of deciding whether he avails himself of the veterinary services covered by the special fee of £2 10s.

In closing the meeting the chairman pointed out that the minimum group membership would soon be reached and he advises farmers who have not yet applied for membership to immediately get in touch with the secretary or Mr Dodson as soon as possible.
