SUGAR ALLOWANCE

CONSUMERS TO RE-REGISTER “All sugar consumers must reregister when purchasing the April sugar ration, and in any case not later than the 30th April,” said the Food and Rationing Controller, Mr J. E Thomas, in a statement jjesterdav. “No grocer may supply a'consume: with the April sugar allowance until this new registration has been effected.”

Every householder is required to write his name and address in block letters on the reverse side of the top of page 3, the sugar coupon page immediately above coupons Nos. 49/52. This is to be done with each ration book in the house. The householder then takes the ration bboks to the grocer from whom he wishes to purchase his sugar during the next six months. The grocer will cut out the top part of the sugar coupon sheet with the names and addresses on the back. The householder must continue to buy his sugar from the grocer with whom he has registered in this * transfers to registrations after the 30th April will not be permitted unless they are necessary on account of change of locality or the closing down of a retail establishment. Transfers necessary for these reasons will be effected as at present by the use of a form secured from the new retailer.
