PETROL COUPONS
TRANSFER NOT ILLEGAL The transfer of petrol coupons is not* illegal, according to a reserved judgment delivered at Stratford recently by Mr W. H. Woodward, S.M The decision is believed to be the first in New Zealand on the point and legalises the practice of giving petrol coupons to persons other than those to whom they were issued. A' man who bought petrol with coupons he had received from another person was charged with tendering them to a vendor when he was not entitled 'to their possession. The charge was dismissed. The Magistrate added that the purpose of the regulations was to conserve oil fuel but there was no prohibition against transferring coupons.
