INTERCESSION
YESTERDAY’S SERVICE A much larger number of citizens than usual attended the weekly intercessory service held yesterday at the Town Hall. The Rev.' L- F. Gunn presided, and Mrs M. G- Sullivan officiated at the piano. The National Anthem was followed by a short prayer led by Mr Gunn, who also gave the Scripture reading, the Epistle of Paul to the Romans, chapter 8, verses 31-39. The hymn “ All People that on Earth do Dwell ” was then sung. Prayers for those in authority, the Empire, the Allied Nations, men and women of the fighting forces, the doctors, nurses, and chaplains, and the sick and wounded were offered by the Rev. L. F. Gunn. A prayer by the Rev- Forde Carlisle was followed by the Lord’s Prayer and the singing of “ Rock of Ages.” The Benediction was pronounced by the Rev. H- Spencer.
