WAIPA RACING CLUB
DATES FOR NEXT SEASON At a meeting of the Committee of the Waipa Racing Club on Friday evening Mr J. T. Young presided, and there were also present Messrs H. O. Kay, A. P. Bond, S. A. Empson, S. S. Preston, T. Grant, A. S. Wallace, R. P. Guy, and S. C. B. Macky. Dates for the coming season’s racing were discussed. It was decided to apply to the Racing Conference for the scheduling of the usual December date for the holding of the summer meeting. The winter meeting this year, which was to have been held on 20th June, has been cancelled, but it was decided by the Committee to ask for the usual summer and winter dates to be allocated for the racing year of 1942-1943. The date desired for the summer meeting is 19th December of this year, and for the winter meeting 19th June, 1943. The president was authorised to take any steps necessary for the disposal of one of the working horses on the Club’s property, as the Club had now acquired a tractor. The Te Awamutu E.P.S. applied for the use of the racecourse properties on the call of any emergency evacuation. Permission was readily given by the Club.
