HIGH SCHOOL COMMITTEE MONTHLY MEETING The usual monthly meeting of the High School Committee was held on Monday night, when there were present: Messrs G. Donaldson (chair), C. W. Old, S. H. West, L. C. Day, and S. E. Bryant. Apologies for absence were received from Messrs J. A. Johnson and W. S. Earwaker. The headmaster, Mr W. G. Smith, was also present. It was reported that no reply had been received from the architect to the Auckland Education Board concern the sealing of the basket ball court. It was decided to press for action, and the matter was left to the chairman. No reply having been received from the Education Department in response to the Committee’s suggestion that the buses be camouflaged, it was decided to write again to the Department on the matter. The Chairman reported on recent discussions in regard to bus timetables, and said it had been agreed that the Waikeria bus should run 15 minutes later, and the Te Mawhai bus ten minutes later. No change on the other bus routes was possible or necessary. The chairman was fully supported by members of the committee, who reported that they had met with practically unanimous support for the continuance of the present time-table

The election of the committee was fixed for Wednesday, May 6, and that election places would be at the Hairini Hall, Mangapiko Hall, Tokanui Cross Roads Hall, Waikeria Institution, Te Mawhai Hall, Kihikihi Hall, and Te Rahu Hall.

The headmaster’s report was received and is published in another column.
