THE GAME OF GOLF
THE OTOROHANGA CLUB OFFICIAL OPENING A large number of members and visitors was present at the Otorohanga Golf Club’s links on Saturday last, the occasion being the official opening of the 1942 season. • Play took the form of a combined Stableford, which was won by Miss F. Holmes and Mr F. W. G. Johnson. Following afternoon tea, the President, Mr M. J. Hilder, welcomed the visitors, and formally declared the season open. The opportunity was taken of saying goodbye to Mr and Mrs S. Oliver, who are leaving the district, and Mr Hilder made a presentation on behalf of members, wishing them the best of luck in their new home. Mr Oliver briefly replied, and he and Mrs Oliver were accorded musical honours.
