WAIPA RACING CLUB

MEETING OF COMMITTEE. GOOD STAKES FOR SUMMER MEETING. A meeting of the committee of the W aipa Racing Club was held lasi night, when there were present: Messrs J. T. Young (chairman), H. O Kay, S. S. Preston, M. McNair, T. Grant, R. P. Guy, A. S. Wallace, A. P. Bond, M. H. Tims and S. A .Empson. The Programme Committee submitted a programme for the summer meeting to be held on 13th December providing for a total in stakes of £2lOO. It is as follows: W. G. Park Hurdles Handicap, of £2OO, 11 miles. Kihikihi Hack Handicap, of £2OO, 7 furlongs (apprentice riders). Waipa Plate, of £125, 61 furlongs. W eight-f or-age. Te Awamutu Cup, of £450, 11 miles. Hack Cup Handicap, of £3OO, 9 furlongs. Ohaupo Hack Handicap, of £225, 61 furlongs. Flying Handicap, of £350, 61 furlongs. Paterangi Handicap, of £250, 7 furlongs.

The following officials were appointed for the meeting: Judge: Mr A. Tronson. Handicapper: Mr F. J. McManemin. Starter: Mr M. Crimmins.

Judicial Committee: Messrs. S. C. Macky (Chairman), M. McNair, A. P. Bond, Lyall R. Kay and S. S. Preston. It was reported that a contract for further bitumen work and for enlarging and improving the birdcage had been let.

Mr Preston was deputed to make arrangements for securing trees, shrubs and flowers for beautifying the grounds.
