PATRIOTIC FUND

TE AWAMUTU’S QUOTA. On Friday last, the sum of £350, being the amount of the extra money required to be raised in the Te Awamutu district for the zone quota of £50,000 for the All Purposes Fund, was duly sent forward to the head office in Hamilton. It speaks well for the patriotic generosity of the people of the district that the amount was raised in a few weeks by socials, dances, etc.— in other words, by the “painless method of extraction.” The Mayoress (Mrs L. G. Armstrong) has received donations towards her fund from Miss M. A. Thompson and Mr and Mrs T. N. Olsen.
