L. A. Thompson At last week’s Medical Board one young volunteer was passed fit, but as he could not satisfy the authorities that he was of military age his application to enlist was, it is understood, deferred. .
Commenting on to-day’s recruits, an experienced observer remarked that when the first batch of volunteers was before the Medical Board there was a noticeably high percentage of men just eligible under the age scale. The next batch had almost as high a percentage of men of mature age, while to-day’s batch was a fine stamp of man of the best military age.
