TE RAU-A-MOA NOTES
ANNUAL SPORTS CARNIVAL. (Own Correspondent.) The monthly meeting of Te Rau-a-Moa Hall Society, on the sth instant, was held in the hall, with Mr Miller Anderson occupying the chair. It was decided to hold the annual sports carnival on Saturday, 2nd March, in Mr Arthur Ormsby’s paddock, kindly made available for the occasion. The following committee was elected ’to carry the carnival fir rough: President, Mr M. Anderson; secretary and orgaitiser, Mr A. C. Purser; field secretary, Mr S. Tripe; stewards, Messrs A. Ormsby. E. and J. Parkinson (horse events), Messrs Robert Daysh, H. Daysh, and S. Irving (chopping events), and Mr B_ -Berntsen (running events). Miss Easy was . appointed. treasurer, and she will also have charge of the refreshment booth, in which duties she will be assisted by Mesdames Anderson and Irving. It was also decided to promote a dance in the evening to " top off ” the day’s carnival.
