TOPICS OF THE HOUR. REVALUING OTOROHANGA. (Our Resident Representative.) A Government valuer is at present making a re-valuation of the town of Otorohanga. LAMBING SEASON. As a result of the most unfavourable lambing season for some years past, it is expected that present docking operations will disclose a slight reduction in the number of lambs in the King Country as compared with more favourable lambing seasons. DAIRYING SEASON. The new season for butter-fat production is in full swing, the bulk of the herds having come in unusually early this year. The milk yield is considered to be very good considering the cold and wet weather conditions obtaining. THE RAINFALL. ■During last month rain fell in Otorohanga on 22 days, the highest fall being on the 17th, when .74 ihches were recorded. The total August fall was 6.92 inches, as compared with 6.3 inches on 15 days during August of 1938. Ten frosts were recorded here last month.
