GOLF NOTES

‘ POKURU CLUB. Following is the draw for a ladies’ match among members of the Pokuru Golf Club for the Lister Cup:— Mrs McLeay v. Mrs R. Harris. Mrs Clements v. Mrs B. Murray. Mrs A. Murray v. Mrs Clarke. C grade players for a bogey match over 12 holes are:— Mrs Karl v. Mrs Smith. Mrs Turner v. Mrs Law| Mrs Langdale v. Mrs Alexander. Mrs Boswell v. Miss Berry. Miss Corboy v. Mrs S. Harris. Mrs Candy v. Miss Wiest.

Mrs Lisk v. another. The men members of the Club will arrange their own partners at the club-house.

OTOROHANGA CLUB. Playing on the Otorohanga links, B. Clausen won the stableford bogey match with 36 points. Match play games resulted as follows: Senior championship: W ( . Rust defeated E. Taylor. Junior championship: H . Rhodes defeated A. N. Ormsby. Handicap reductions: B. Clausen. 17—3-14.

Miss A. Cumpstone won the medal. 102—<35—57. Mrs H. Miller (15) defeated Mrs Costley (33), 4—3, in the final of the match play cup. In the junior championships Miss B. M'atthews defeated Mrs Costley; Mrs Gilmore beat Mrs Morley; Mrs Mexted beat Mrs Hunter. Mrs Austin (Honikiwi) returned good cards (88 —88) at the King Country championships, and was placed third. She succeeded in winning the bogey competition run in conjunction with the championship series.

Despite the unfavourable weather the local links are in excellent condition.
