ANOTHER JUBILEE
ST. ANDREW’S PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH. CEREMONIES THIS MONTH. For some time past the office-bear-ers and many members of St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, Te Awamutu, have been preparing for the celebration of that church’s diamond jubilee, which is to be held on the 28th instant. The subject whs referred to at the monthly meeting, in Hamilton last Tuesday, of the Waikato Presbytery, when an invitation from the congregation in Te Awamutu for the Presbytery to be represented officially at the jubilee was accepted. The occasion will be the sixtieth anniversary of the induction of the first minister, Rev. James Bruce, into the charge, and the Moderator of the Waikato Presbytery was deputed to be that body’s official representative. An application from the management committee of Te Awamutu congregation for permission to proceed with structural alterations to the church, at an approximate cost of £650, was granted. The major part of the money required is already in hand, and the Presbytery felicitated the members of the congregation upon the church’s forward move.
