SOCIAL NOTES
Mr and Mrs J. N. Culley have been for a brief visit to Matamata. Mr Galvin, inspector of scenic reserves, lias been on a visit to Kawhia. Messrs R. F. Braine and N. Clarke were in Auckland for the week-end. Mrs Watemburg, of Opunake, accompanied by her young daughter, is visiting relatives in Kawhia. Mi- and Mrs Taylor, of Raglan, were guests of Mr and Mrs L. L. Allen during the week-end. Representatives from Kawhia attended the sports meeting held in Matthews' paddock, Otorohanga. The meeting was a decided success. A nunjber of natives left Kawhia to join King Koroki en route to Palmerston North to be present at the tajigi following the decease of Mr Tait te Tomo. Those acquainted with Mr P. Keem will be pleased to learn that he is on the- way to recovery from a prolonged f illness originating in influenza. Having been gassed in the war, Mr Keem has had a hard fight for recovery in the Hamilton Hospital. He is reported close to his discharge from that institution. '
