POLICE COURT
CHARGE OF ASSAULT. Before Mr Martin Oldbury and Mr S. Morris, J.’sP., Matie Huiao was charged with assaulting Fred Ormsby so as to cause bodily harm. Evidence went to show that the two men were working together when an altercation arose between them. In the heat of the argument Huiao picked up a stool and assaulted Ormsby, inflicting serious injury, necessitating his removal to hospital.
Huiao was sentenced to 30 days’ imprisonment in Kawhia gaol.
