REPRESENTATIVE HOCKEY
COUNTRY WEEK GAMES. POSITION' OF WAIPA TEAMS. Four days’ play has concluded in the Country Week tourney at Auckland, and the position of the four teams from Waipa to date is that in the contest for the White Horse Cup Waipa A is equal with Whangarei B team at the top, with five points, and Piako has four points, Rodney B two, and Waipa B nil. These five teams comprise section B. In the other section Rodney A has six points (being unbeaten), Whangarei A and Franklin A each four, Franklin B three, and Thames-Hau-raki nil. The last-named team has played four games, and each of the others three.
In the Provincial Cup tourney (for ladies) Whangarei A leads in section A with six points, Waikato five. Thames three, Rodney two and Waipa B nil.
In section B Auckland is top with seven points, Waipa A has five, Hauraki Plains two, and Whangarei B nil. On Wednesday, in the White Horse Cup game, Waipa A had a bye, and Waipa B was beaten by four goals to one by Rodney B. In the Provincial Cup Waipa B had a bye, and Waipa A defeated Hauraki Plains by one goal to nil. Yesterday, in the White Horse Cup contest, Whangarei B defeated Waioa B by thirteen goals to nil, and Waipa A drew with Piako, two goals each The scorers*for Waipa were J. Smith and G. Finch.
In the play-off in section B of the Provincial Cup competition Auckland defeated Waipa A by four goals to one (the latter being scored by Miss R. Spiers).
