OF LOCAL INTEREST. STEINER—STEINER. St. Patrick’s Roman Catholic Church in Te Awamutu was the scene of a pretty wedding this morning, when the Rev. Father Shore, of Te Kuiti, married Joseph Francis, son of Mr and Mrs Martin J. Steiner, of Stratford, to Elisa, daughter of Mr and Mrs Anton J. Steiner, of Paterangi (and formerly of Mangaorongo), in the presence of a congregation of relatives and friends. The bride was attired in ivory ripple-wave cloque, slim-fitting, flaring from the knees to' form a train buttoned down the back, and with long sleeves forming a point over the . wrists. She also wore an ivory embroidered tulle veil, and carried a pretty bouquet of cream roses and chrysanthemums and maidenhair fern. In attendance as bridesmaids were the Misses Ettie and Freda Steiner, arrayed in pale salmon pink flamisol taffeta, cut on princess lines, flared from the waist, and with Peter Pan collars, and buttoned down the back, finished at the neck with a flower and black velvet ribbon. Their halos were pleated of the same material, and they carried bouquets of pale pink chrysanthemums and ceanothus and fern. Mr Louis Steiner, of Kaponga (bother of the groom), was responsible for the duties of best man, and Mr John Steiner, another brother, was groomsman. Miss J. McGettigan,. of Otorohanga, presided at the organ, and during the service Mr C. B. Linehan, of St. Leger Road, rendered appropriate vocal solos. After the ceremony a reception was held at the Parish Hall, where the bride’s mother received the guests wearing a frock of navy crepe and lace, with a matching hat of peachbloom, and carrying a posy of blue delphiniums and ceanothus and fern. The bridegroom’s mother, Mrs J. Steiner, wore a black ensemble with black hat, and carried a posy of delphiniums, blue ceanothus,. and fern. The happy couple left later by motor car on their honeymoon, the bride travelling in a frock of navy and white, with navy accessories. They will make t-heir future home at Matamata. SPOONER—JENKINS. St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church. Claudelands, was very prettily decorated for the wedding, on Saturday last, of Thomas George Spooner, eldest son of Mr and Mrs G. E. Spooner, of Hamilton, and Naomi Ceridwen Jenkins, elder daughter of Mrs A. P. and the late William Pryse Jenkins, also of Hamilton. The Rev. H. G- Gilbert was the officiating clergyman and the congregation included relatives and friends from Auckland, To Awamutu, Cambridge, Hamilton, Waikino, Rotorua, and Bay of Plenty. The bride looked radiant in a charming frock of ivory white embossed lace mounted over satin, made on tight-fit-ting lines, and trimmed with satincovered buttons on back and sleeves. The skirt, which fell gracefully to form a long train, was appliqued with lace motifs and caught with sprays of orange blossom. Her veil of tulle, with a coronet of orange blossom, formed a second train. Miss Gwyneth Jenkins sister of the bride) and*MisJean Hamilton Clark were bridesmaids, attired in stardust crepe, one in blue and the other in gold, designed simply on slim-fiting lines with gauntlets of silver lame, and they wore silver bandeaux. Mr John C. Spoonei carried out the duties of best man and Mr Keith Radford was groomsman. During the signing of the register the Rev. Everill Orr, of Auckland sang an appropriate solo, and ar the conclusion of the wedding breakfast Mrs J. W. Jones, of Waikir.o. sang “Love’s Coronation.” Among the guests present at the reception were Rev. H. G. and Mrs Gilbert, Mr and Mrs J. Primrose, R<. v Everill and Mrs Orr.
