BASKETBALL
WAIPA ASSOCIATION. Owing to the large number of clubs wishing to join the Association, and take part in the competitions, it has been found necessary to divide the Wai pa Basketball Association’s competition into two grades. This will necessitate the playing of a tournament next Saturday, and it is essential that all clubs wishing to affiliate have their teams ready to play, at the High School grounds, sharp at 2 p.m. The clubs concerned include Athletic, Otorohanga, Old Girls, Te Kuiti, Paterangi, Te Kuiti Convent, Hairini, Hangatiki, Te Kawa, Marakopa and Tokanui Crossroads. ATHLETIC (TJJ.B. FOR TNIGHT LY MEETING. The fortnightly meeting of the Athletic Basketball Club was hold last night, when about twenty members were present. Miss M. Rickit presided. Members were informed that the material for their club blazers had arrived. The club dance was discussed, and it was decided to have it at the Town Hall on May 31st. Owing to Mrs Nobes having to resign from the selectorship, it was decided that the captain (Miss L. Bloxham), vice-captain (Miss P. Sherley), and the secretary (Miss M. Pollard) be responsible for the selecting.
