ILLUSTRATED ADDRESS
VISIT OF MR BROADFOOT TO KORAKONUI. Very many settlers and their families took advantage of the opportunity afforded on Wednesday evening to assemble at the Korakonui Hall to hear M'r W. J. Broadfoot, M.P. for Waitomo, give an illuminated address on his trip last year to attend the Coronation of His Majesty King George VI. Mr Broadfoot’s remarks, delivered in his well-known racy style, were supplemented by some marvel-lously-interesting motion picture displayed by Mr L. W. Spence, of Te Awamutu. Incidentally, it may be remarked that the operator’s skill contributed in no small measure te the success of the evening. Mr Broadfoot took his hearers on a fascinating tour, and the coloured portion of the film showing the Changing of the Guard at Buckingham Palace, and the many sidelights observed and noted by such a bright personality as Mr Broadfoot were full of interest throughout the hour and a-half he occupied. At the close, Mr W. S. Hopping, who presided, expressed the district’s very hearty thanks to Mr Broadfoot and Mr Spence for providing such a delightful evening.
