RELIGIOUS EXERCISES
THE NEW EDUCATION BILL. A TE AWAMUTU PROTEST. At a meeting of the Te Awamutu Ministerial Association, the- following resolution was carried unanimously: That this meeting of clergy, representative of the Anglican, Presbyterian and Methodist congregations of Te Awamutu and its surrounding districts views with grave misgiving the expressed intention of the Minister of Education to terminate the daily voluntary religious exercises in the State/ Primary Schools of the Dominion and would enter a very earnest protest against such action. This meeting further urges that no final action be taken by the Government without a public referendum.
