Shearing operations in Waitomo district are making very little headway, and will not be completed before Christmas.

The first two matches of the local Bowling Club's tournament on Saturday resulted: Rev. Woollass and D. Bockett beat von Sturmer and F. Bowden, after a tie, for in the extra three heads the former pair scored 7 4; and Clement and Dr Reekie beat J. S. Phillips and Stephenson 18 —16.
