At Hamilton yesterday a grant was sought from the Minister of Public Works for the sealing of a stretch of one mile of road from Hamilton to the Ruakura State Farm at a total cost, of about £lOOO. Visitors to the farm used the road a good deal, said Mr C. A. Barrell, M.P., yet no rates were received from this large block of land. The request seemed a fair one, said the Minister, and he advised the council to make a definite offer as a contribution toward the work.
