HOUSES FOR THAMES
FIFTEEN TO BE BUILT. On Saturday last Mr James Thorn, M..P,, who is now in Dunedin with the Sea Fisheries’ Investigation Committee, received the following wire from Mr J. A. Lee, Parliamentary Under Secretary to the Minister for Finance:— “Pleased to inform you Cabinet has approved purchase of area of land in Thames for housing purposes. This area consists of fifteen building sections, and will provide first instalment housing scheme for Thames. Prelimianry plans now under way. Anticipate commencement near future.” Mr Thorn is shortly to consult with Mr A. Tyndall the type of house required in the borough.
