WAGE TAX STAMPS

ADDITIONAL DENOMINATIONS. The need for additional denominations in wage tax stamps was urged at a meeting of the Palmerston North Chamber of Commeice. In many cases it had been found necessary to affix a considerable number cf stamps in wages books to make up the required amount, and a suggestion was made that if an alteration in denominations could be made a considerable amount of space and time would be aved. Members said that sometimes as many as five stamps were used when only two should be necessary. The suggestion will be forwarded to the authorities concerned, “unless,” as one member added, “the wages tax is abolished in the. meantime.”
