WAIKATO HOSPITAL
ADDITIONS AUTHORISED. CENTRAL BLOCK AND MORGUE. Building expenditure totalling £35,637 was authorised at. the monthly meeting of the Waikato Hospital Hoard yesterday, when tenders for new buildings came before the board. Tenders ranging from £25,800 to ‘.29,689 were received for the erection of the central block and morgue at the Waikato Hospital, and the former price, from Messrs C. S. Pratt and t ons, was accepted. Nine tenders, ranging from £8990 i ■ £11,039, came forward for the ereci.on of the new administrative offices : : Marlborough Place, and that of ‘■3990 from Mr J. R. McKinnon was accepted. The tender of Mr W. J. Campbell, at £847, was accepted for the construction of additional bedrooms to the nurses’ home at.the Rotorua Hospital. The chairman, Mr J. J. Ryburn, commented that, the hospital staffs were working under adverse eondi lions, and lie was glad to see the lenders accepted. The offices, he said, were not being built before they were absolutely necessary.
