CAMBRIDGE STOCK SALE. New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co. Ltd. report as follows on their Cambridge stock sale, held or. Monday:—Fat and store cattle: This section of the market was brisk for all classes. The scattering of good beef cattle made rates fully equal to those ruling at. Frankton, while the stores and young sound cows too created brisk bidding. A few yearling heifers drew animated competition, while current rates obtained for a large numbei of bulls. We quote: Light. F.A. fat heifers £7 17s to £8 4s, heavy Jersey cross fat cows £5 10s to £6 2s, good quality Jersey beef £4 10s to £5 7s 6d, unfinished and light £3 15s to £4 7s 6d, sound young Jersej’ cows empty £2 I ls to £3 10s, stores £2 5s to £2 12s 6d, boners 36s to £2 4s, good class yearling Jersey heifers £4 16b to £5 7s, medium do, £4 2s Gd to £4 12s (id, sound young bulls £4 15s to £6, medium weight potter bulls £2 15s to £4 ss. Dairies: Notwithstanding that large quantities were handled a keen tone prevailed right through and practically all sold. Most were of medium class only, but good .sorts were well represented. We quote: Best Jersey springing heifers. £7 5s to £8 10s, medium do £6 to £7, inferior £4 10s to £5 15s, good in-milk Jersey cows £5 15s Io £7 ss, medium do £4 10s to £5 10s, inferior to £4 2s Gd. Sheep: The offering was very small ami values were stable at pre tailing rates. Prime 2 tooth wethers 28s to 335, medium fat shorn wethers 24s to 265, light and unfinished 21s to £3s. Pigs: Both porkers and bacon ers were penned in good numbers and were accorded keen bidding. Prices did not fluctuate greatly from last, week’s Frankton rates, and all enter ed sold readily. Despite a full entry of store and weaner pigs an improvement, if anything, resulted. The demand was strong and a complete clearance was effected. We quote: Heavy baconers £3 5s to £3 Ils, medium do £2 15s to £3 4s, light baconers £2 7s 6d to £2 14s, heavy porkers £2 4s to £2 7s 6d, medium 32s to £2 2s fid, buttermilk pigs 32s 6d to £2 2s 6d, good stores 26s to 325, medium 22s 6d to 255, slips 17s to 21s, good weaners 13s to 15s, Inferior to 12s fid. PUTARURU STOCK SALE. ■Mess’-js Dalgety and Co. Ltd. report having held their usual stock sale at Putaruru on. Mpnday, as under:—There was a good entry o! all classes of stock and a good attendance of buyers. We sold 44 Down cross hoggets m.s. store condition 22..: Id, 182 f.m. woolly ewes 100 per cent, lambs at foot at 17s 3d, all counted, 2(?J ditto less condition 15s Id all counted, light fat wethers 26s 6d, shorn fat ewes 21s 6d. Cattle: Fat cows from light to medium weight £5 15s to £7 ss, forward condition Jersey cows £3 to £4 ss, store Jersey cows S2 14s to £2 17s 6d, cows and calves £4 16s to £5 7s 6d, forward S.H. and S.H. cross empty hcifeirs £5 ss, pen of P.A. and Hereford cross steers £8 7s, pen S.H. steers 2-year-old £7 ss, pen ditto £7, Jersey steers £4 7s, yearling S.H. heifers £3 10s, yearling S.H. Hereford cross heifers £4, Jersey bulls 35s to £6. Dairy Cattle: A smaller entry than usual, but competition was keen on quality heifers close to profit. Nice quality springing Jersey heifers close to profit £7 5s to £8 5s later and poorer quality £5 12s 6d to £6, others £5 to £5 10s, springing Jelrsey cows £5 15s to £6 ss, aged cows £3 12s 6d to £4 ss. Horses: The entry met with keen competition. Very good quality mares met with very favourable competition. Eight-year mare: in foal (broken to harness) £23, 1 brood mare not in foal £ll, 1 3-year mare broken to chains but no other work £l9. Pigs: A large yarding of pigs met with steady competition throughout the sale. The entry consisted mainly of light unfinished porkers, forward slips and some velry good pens of weaners. Sows due to farrow melt with ready dispersal. Young sows close to farrowing met with keen competition while backward sorts and aged sows were disposed of at prices suitable to vendors. Heavy norkers £2 3s to £2 10s. light ditto £1 10s to £1 17s, light baconers £2 15s to £2 19s, good slips £1 2s to £1 10s, good weaners 18s to £1 2s, inferior sorts 7s, (average: weaners 14s to 17s 6d. sows £2 5s to £2 12s 6d, sows close to farrowing £2 10s to £2 17s 6d aged sows in pig 1.6 s to £1 10s.
