Mrs Focke, of Te Rahu, is staying with Mrs G. T. Robson, at Devonport. The young French world traveller. M. Louis Bouvier, who has been in the Te Awamutu district for the past two or three months, had the misfortune to sustain a fracture of the right leg through being kicked by a horse on Friday. He is at present progressing satisfactorily in the Waikato Hospital. Several Te Awamutu golfers competed at the Okoroire open amateur championship yesterday, when over fifty players from all parts of the province, including last year’s winner (Edmonds, of North Auckland), took part. Victory frent to G. -Ferguson (Hamilton) with a card of 70—74—144; H. V. Holmes (Te Awamutu) being runner-up with 73—72—145, and Edmonds (last year's winner) third with 73—75—148. Two more Te Awamutu players, M. Barnett and J. Sterritt, finished close up to the placed men.
