MOTOR CYCLE CLUB

ELECTION OF OFFICERS. The re-opening meeting of the Te Awamutu Motor Cycle Club was held on Monday evening, when Mr C. Blonifteld presided over a good attendance. The chairman explained the objects ol the club and the position when it went into recess in 1931, due mainly to the slump taking a severe toll of the members. The balance sheet showed the club to be in credit to the extent of £7 12s lid. The election of officers resulted as follows: Patron, the Mayor, Mr G. Spinley; president, Mr J. A. Morris; vice-presidents, Di J. B. W. Roberton, Dr K. N. Hiskens, Messrs A. G. Warburton and E. H. Cucksey; club captain, Mr C. Ohutu; vice-captain, Mr N. Gibson; secretary, Mr R. Cobbald; treasurer, Mr D. Ray; auditor, Mr E. White; committee, Messrs J. Roach, A. Lowe, G. Knight and M. Crew. The president reported that the club had had a very successful run to Rotorua during the week-end, when the members had been the guests of the Rotorua Club. The Te Awamutu Club had also accepted an invitation from the Whakatane Club to attend the beach sports at Whakatane, and would leave Te Awamutu on November 1. The president and secretary of the Hamilton Motor Cycle Club, Messrs J. Kennedy and A. Perry, were also present, and Mr Perry gave an explanation of the Government’s proposals for a military motor cycle corps. The speaker also gave details of rhe Hamilton Club’s runs to the fl* Rukuhia Airport and to Tuhikaramea on November 7th and November 22nd ’ respectively, and invited members to be present. A vote of thanks was passed to the retiring officers for their services to the club.
