GOODS AND PARCELS DEPOT. Sir, —I observe there was a discussion at the last meeting of our local Chamber of Commerce regarding the necessity of a depot in our town where goods and parcels cou>4 be assembled for delivery to carriers who cater for the outlying districts. There is an agency of this kind in Te Awamutu at the present time, and there seems no necessity to overlap. One speaker did make reference to the fact, but said the idea had not been developed. I should like to ask whose fault that is. The agency is advertised regularly, but the business men of the town do not use it sufficiently. I should like to make it clear that the business is doing all right, but certainly if the firms in this town would make greater use of it—at no cost to themselves, by the way—it would certainly fulfil all the requirements of any scheme which our local Chamber of Commerce may have in its mind.— I am, etc., v W. TOOTILL.
