Powelka crimes are reported everywhere. A local wag has started the rumour that the notorious criminal has stolen the local post office tower plans. A proposal is made to form a court of the Foresters’ Lodge at Te Awamutu.
At cricket Pirongia beat Mangapiko by 6 wickets on Saturday. F. McConkey, J. Whitton, R. Bourne, E. Redgate, C. McConkey, L. Garland, C. Alexander, N. Clark, W. Whitton, G. Redgate, and S. Alexander were the Mangapiko eleven, and for Pirongia the batsmen were C. Randrup, H. Jensen, Heke, W. Bell, T. Steel, A. W. Jones, W l . and H. Godfrey, J. Turner, G, Waller, and G. Finn. Mr J. A. Young opened his election campaign at Te Awamutu last night. It was his first political address as a candidate for the Waikato constituency.
