AS REPORTED IN THE WAIPA POST ON 22nd SEPT., 1911. There is much building activity in the town. Bockett’s Buildings are nearing completion, and Teasdale's Buildings are up to the second storey. The post office walls have reached the scaffolding level. Two Tautari farmers, W. Archer and J. Giltrap, occupied the Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday in settlement of a dispute which ended in an alleged assault. Fire occurred on Tuesday in a store adjoining Mr G. M. A. Ahier’s premises. A bucket brigade was formed and did good work in saving the main buildings. The Puniu Domain Board is forming a croquet green at Victoria Park, and a meeting of ladies on Wednesday decided to form a Croquet Club adn take the greens over. Mrs G. H. White presided, and Miss Stewart was elected secretary. The committee comprises Mesdames Miller, Collins, and Lenihan. A creamery at Otorohanga was opened last week. A school residence is to be built at Roto-o-Rangi. The Rangiaohia creamery is now running full time. At a Hamilton conference it was decided to form a Waikato Lawn Tennis Association. Mr Fabling is secretary.
