Te Awamutu Golf Club’s representatives visited Putaruru last Sunday for an inter-club match, and the results were as follow, with Te Awamutu players named first:— Ladies’ section: Mrs Glanville beat Mrs Smith, Miss M. Clark beat Mrs Spraggon, Mrs Howcroft beat Miss Tuck, Miss M. Kay v. Mrs Pearce (unfinished), Mrs Holmes beat Miss Cleary, Mrs H. G. Babbage beat Miss Drummond, Miss' W. Manson beat Miss Barnett, Mrs Babbage sen. lost to Miss Baillie. In the four ball match in the afternoon Mrs Glanville and Miss Clark beat Mesdames Smith and Spraggon, Mrs Howcroft and Miss Kay beat Miss Tuck and Mrs Pearce, Mrs Holmes and Miss Hanson v. Misses Cleary and Drummond all square, Mesdames Babbage and H. G. Babbage v. Misses Barnett and Baillie all square. Men’s section: In the morning singles H. V. Holmes beat Gibb, M. Otway beat Pearce, C. Blundell and Rolfe all square, M. Barnett beat Tetzner, W. Foggin and N. Barnett all square, J. Walker beat Burkett, G. W. Parker heart Halkett, G. Wood beat Gordon, Griffiths beat Rudd, S. S. Preston beat Spraggon, Christie beat Robinson, A. Craig beat McNab. In the four ball best ball contest Hiskens and Holmes beat Gibb and Pearce, Barnett and Sterrltt lost to Tetzner and Rolfe, Brown and Walker beat N. Barnett and Burkett, Parker and Wood lost to Gordon and Halkett, Preston and Griffiths beat Spraggon and Rudd, Christie and Craig beat Robinson and McNab. THE ARCHEEN CUP. Playing on the local links, in the semi-final for the Archeen Cup, H. V. Holmes defeated C. Blundell, 2 and 1.
