AGRICULTURAL CLUB

FORMED AT OTOROHANGA. (Resident Representative.) An agricultural club for boys and girls has been formed at Otorohanga, and the following officers were elected: Patron, Mr W. J. Broadfoot, M.P.; president, Mr W. B. McAdam; vice-presidents Mesdames J. C. Petersen, W. J. C. Patterson, and C. Irvine and Messrs F. 0. R. Phillips, 0. Dalziel, V. W. Simms, W. Bluck, W. I. Bowyer, C. Hodson, A. E. Trott, T. Cumpstone, H. G. Corbett, V. L. Landman, J. F. Trapski, and A. B. Mossman, and Drs Bonnington and MacFarlane; executive committee, Mrs A. Bell, Miss Lurman and Messrs Riddalls, Bell, Homeman, Sklenars, Hotson, Watson, H. A. Lurman, and Connell; secretarv and treasurer, Mr G. Watson; auditor, Mr C. Tucker. Mr Lurman was appointed chairman.

It was decided to promote the following annual competitions: Pedigree Jerseys, Jersey grades, pedigree Ayrshires, grade Ayrshires, pedigree Friesians, grade Friesians, pedigree Shorthorns, grade Shorthorns, grade Shorthorns, and cross-bred and beef cattle. . .

Calves, to be judged in two divisions—(a) best-reared type and (b) best dairy type. Competitions will include calf-rear-ing, lamb-rearing, pigs, poultry, birds, dogs, horses, field and garden produce, including vegetables and flower plots. Judging will be undertaken during the month of November, and a stringent list of rules and regulations has been laid dowm in connection with the competitions.
