AEROPLANE CRASH

PASSENGER INJURED. Advices from Christchurch indicate tHat an aeroplane which went to Porter’s Pass yesterday morning to bring in an injured member of a deer-stalking party crashed when landing near Christchurch. It appqars that foggy conditions were experienced, and the pilot could not find the Wligram aerodrome, so essayed to land in a paddock, near Lincoln Road, . In manoeuvring for position, the aeroplane struck the ground with one wing. The pilot, Mr S. A. Gibbons, escaped unhurt, but the injqred. deerstalker, Mr Pierr (whose condition was already grave) received severe shock, and Mr Taylor, a passenger, received injuries to the head and face, but they are not serious. The aeroplane is extensively damaged.
