INTER-CLUB CONTEST. TE AWAMUTU v. OTOROHANGA. A very enjoyable inter-club match between Te Awamutu and Otorohanga Ladies’ Club teams was played on the local links. Following are the scores, with Otorohanga players named first: Mrs Austin beat Miss M. Clark 6 and 5; Mrs Miller and Mrs Blundell, all square; Mrs Hotson lost to Miss M. Quin, 4 and 3; Miss Osborne lost to Mrs Teasdale, 3 and 2; Miss McKerras beat Mrs How-croft, 1 up; Mrs Liddy lost to Mrs Oliphant, 4 and 2; Miss White beat Miss Ffielan, 5 and 4; Mrs O. Coverdale lost to Mrs Holmes, 4 and 3. Foursomes. —Mrs Austin and Mrs Miller lost to Miss Clark and Mrs- R. Callis, Mrs Hotson and Miss Osborne beat Miss Quin and Mrs Teasdale, Miss McKarras and Mrs Liddy lost to Mrs Howcrofit and Mrs Preston, Miss White and Mrs Coverdale lost to Miss Phelan and Mrs Holmes, Mrs Corbett beat Mrs Bryant. The men’s section of the inter-club contest between Te Awamutu and Otorohanga Clubs, played during the week-end, resulted in a win for the Te Awamutu players, who accounted for all but one of the foursomes games, and nine of the fourteen games in the singles. H. Holmes lost to Hotson, 2 and 1; M. Barnett lost to Mcßobie, 3 and 1; McDonald beat Pilkington, 8 and 7; J. Sterritt beat Taylor, 3 and 2; W. Foggin beat A. Fleming, Preston beat Thompson, A. Craig beat O. M. Coverdale, G. Wood beat Morley. In the foursomes, Holmes and McDonald beat Hotson and Mcßobie, 5 and 4, Foggin and Barnett lost to Pilkington and Taylor, 3 and 2; Sterr;itt and As'hton beat Fleming and Ormsby, 3 and 2; Preston and Wood beat Austin and Liddy.
