SOCIAL AND PERSONAL
An interested visitor to Te Awamutu this week has been Mr A. W. Wilton, of Mangonui, North, Auckland, secretary of the Fairburn’sOruru Daily Co., and a keen sportsman. Mr Wilton has been visiting his son, Mr Jas. Wilton, of Fraser Street, and had been to Wellington on business connected with acclimatisation matters in the North. He also enjoyed a round or two of golf on the Te Awamutu links.
Mr B H. Budden, of Pokuru, returned heme on Wednesday morning from a trip to the South Island, having used aerial transport between Palmerston North and Dunedin, and south of the last-named city he motored fcr hundreds of miles to the Lakes district and Invercargill. Mr Budden was much impressed with wft'at he saw in the South, and was especially impressed with the splendid metalled reads, and the prosperous appearance of farm lands.
