SHOOTING GALLERY

CLOSING HOURS Mr C. A. Arthur, on behalf of Mr T. A. Durran, licensee for the shooting gallery in Whitaker street, applied to the Borough Council on Wednesday evening for an extension of hours to 11 p.m.—The Legal and Finance Committee recommended that the hours 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. be adhered to.

Cr. McMahon moved that the recommendation be adopted. Cr. Sellars seconded.

Cr. McKibbin thought they should allow Mr Durran a little concession. He was paying rent and was conducting his business in an orderly way. He presented good prizes and was teaching young people to shoot. If there was anything wrong the police would take it up. He moved that the closing hour be extended to 11 p.m.

There was no seconder and the motion was carried.
